In the space of 2 weeks we've had 5 deadlines,we've been sleeping alongside glue guns and have half a rainforest of paper living on our bedroom floors...So making an effort with our outfits was such a treat for us today as we've been crawling to uni dressed like drab mutants.

It's been a while... this post has been sitting pretty as a draft and we've been neglecting our blog thanks to an abundance of design work and salvaging a social life.
A couple of weeks ago we fled Leicester and escaped to London where we attended London fashion weekend, the event was a peasants extension to London fashion week...we had a chance to experience a slice of what lfw would actually include. Pretending to be amongst the fashion elite we strutted the cobbles of summerset house, this was the first time that we had visited summerset house the little corner acted as a beautiful sun trap where we could be magpies and ogle at all the beautiful garments. It was a brilliant day filled with catwalk shows, pop up shops selling clothes we could only dream of affording, a lorra people watching and acted as a nice backdrop to take plenty of pictures.

Monday we went on a wee adventure with uni to Shakespeare's little village of Stratford upon Avon, which is beautifully quant at least the parts we explored were. Thanks to our course which surrounds fashion and costume we were given an opportunity to nose round the costume department at the royal Shakespeare company, we definitely underestimated the amount of people and work that  goes into a production, there was a whole building with all it's nooks and crannies that was crammed with fabrics, designs, equipment and specialists...I mean we had never even heard of a dyeing apartment where it's their responsibility to make an immaculate dress look shabby and bloodstained. It made for a really insightful and visually stimulating day,if you ever get the chance to visit the royal Shakespeare company we would definitely recommend it.

It's a wee bit late but hope y'all had a beautiful Christmas and made resolutions that your probably on the cusp of breaking...megatron is on a health kick and Chelsey whilst having an identity crisis is determined to become an organised adult. We're both holding our breaths in anticipation for the loss of our social lives when uni starts next week, we're going to be consumed with all things fashion this year as our joint resolution is to plough through uni whilst nurturing this beastly blog.

Has anyone else made any resolutions?

When we started this blog we had intentions of it being the sidecar to our motorbike (uni), but until this post we've failed to really get the motorbike out of the garage and the sidecars been freewheeling. So we're working towards completing a foundation degree in fashion and costume, at first we thought a foundation degree sounded a bit of a cop out compared to a straight forward degree, however it really isn't... in our opinion its a cheaper alternative to being in a class of 30+ people. We're in a class of 11 and we get smothered by our tutor, the tutor and other teachers are passionate, supportive and a wee bit loopy. For our first module we've been working on a project with George, Asda which is a massive opportunity because we never expected to be working closely with industry so soon. we've been given a brief to design a collection for spring/summer 14 our sundae girl trend is based on a pastel palette with plenty of floral's and gingham.

Thanks to our project pastels and gingham have been the centre of our world and for this post the centre of our wardrobe...
